I noted that one of the recent official posts from Marske Utd states they have requested to re-join the Northern League First Div next season. Personally I feel they should start again in the North Riding League, however its a rare situation where they are still affiliated with the North Riding County FA, and do have a "reserves" team in that league, which by default is their first time now I guess..
Whilst I don't like to see Marske, or any other team struggle financially, they have clearly lived well beyond their means and also don't seem to have improved their infrastructure much more than the minimum requirements, although I accept there is nothing wrong with that..
What does everyone think ?

Should be no higher than northern league division 2, same level droylsden started off at again and they did not pull out of a league halfway through a season and when they pulled out of the league it was also due to covid. Will be intresting to see how this pans out. I feel if they are placed at northern league division 2 it sets a dangerous predent for clubs in the future pulling out if leagues during a season after over spending

Wearside league. Why the Northern league. Didn't think you could pick and choose to be honest. Put them back in the NL2 and there only 3 promotions off being back to where it all went tits up. Can they afford the Northern league or will they do a North Shields and all of a sudden as if by magic find money from somewhere. Stinking some of the stuff that goes in these leagues. Punish the clubs that don't cut there cloth. Looks like North Shields have gone unpunished no fines points deduction or nothing. Just spunk all your money on players have six weeks off then get back to me when your ready. Honking. Sewage smells better.

Lived beyond their means then got the collection buckets out. Little sympathy for them.
I'm pleased they're continuing as a club as they have a loyal set of supporters.
Should be placed no higher than the North Riding Premier League in my opinion.

According to a thread on Facebook the fans were promised transparency as to how they've ended up getting in this mess and nothing has been delivered. It looks pretty obvious but I think there's more to this than meets the eye. They tried a couple of little sneaky ways to get out of it but they were found out. Definitely a rabbit away as to what's gone on here. Woodhouse wouldn't have been cheap then there's boyes who would have been on decent wedge. To much far to soon. Desperation.

Should be the ultimate punishment and forced to start at the bottom.they haven't even attempted to fulfill their fixtures nor have they requested voluntary relegation.sound to me theyve tried to have their cake and eat it at every turn.didnt even try to cut costs to see season through,just wanted public to pay for their players,just as they did last year for ground improvements.Danglies to them im afraid

How they've gone from not having a pot to piss in to putting that team out tonight is miraculous. There's not a chance there doing it for next to nowt. These chancers have conned the league and the league have rolled over and had there bellies tickled. For this to happen without a fine or points deduction is an absolute debacle. The league should be embarrassed 100% not fair on clubs who do things properly and to add to that it's a bigger kick in the balls for the opposition they've bluffed recently who they were meant to play. |

From the outside looking in its a pretty obvious case of not living within your means and it catching up. They should be put in the North Riding IMO taking the place of their reserve team.
The league cant continue to let teams have a few weeks out just because they have overspent without any punishment. North Shields and Brandon have had 6/8 weeks to pool money, bring in new players and get the begging bowls out without any sanctions.
The league have now made a rod for their own back, any team moving forward can just tell the league they are struggling, Have 6 weeks off, get things sorted and start again. Absolute farce.

Last year Harlow Town resigned from SL1C step 4 and were placed into the ECL1S step 6. Usually it’s at least a 2 step demotion, although the FA try and look at step 6 these days. I don’t think they’ll end up in the NRL, but which step they’ll end up will be down to the FA leagues committee

This league doesn't do it justice. |

There's a Fans Forum meeting in the clubhouse tomorrow night at 6pm, which is hopefully going to be at least the start of finding out just what the hell has happened to us. The past few weeks have been awful and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.
