Now the allocations have been done by the fa and all the fallout been talked about with Marske and kendal naking div 1 up to 22 teams. What happens if newton aycliffe fail the ground grading at the end of the month and are relegated . Do they come back to div 1 and make it 23 teams or will the fa move someone laterally I very much doubt they’ll be demoted. I’m sure they’ll reach the grading level and stay up

Rumour on here a few months back from some others was that they were making no effort to sort the ground and would be taking demotion. Almost like people on here make it up as they go along🤨

So the 30K raised wasn't done so to save the Club? It was raised to pay players and transport etc. The players then left and the Club quit. Great to see the new regime are doing things correct and are trying to find their feet. No one wants to see a great Club like Marske go under but I feel the fans should try to remain humble until at least the new season starts. Hi yes the money did indeed save the club. If the players and creditors had not been paid when they were, the club would’ve folded totally and they would’ve no longer been allowed to be called Marske United, and would’ve likely started from the bottom of the Teesside League/North Riding etc. They didn’t so the club lives on, hence them not ‘starting from the bottom’ like some seem to be obsessed over, so as a result they’re taking the FA ruling 2 division drop (albeit this was the minimum drop). This ‘holding back’ of crowdfunded money is utter BS. There is a new committee with new directors on board, who are nothing to do with the previous regime. But I see these people who think the club tactically got demoted just to rise again immediately, have gone quiet. So whatever. 👍 as mentioned, the new chairman has made clear they’ll be operating on sustainable and self-funded budgets going forward. As said, the info is all there on the club website and socials, but speculating and drawing alternative conclusions is more fun. One advantage they have over most(not all) of the club’s in the NL1 going forward. Is the fact that they only have to concentrate on the league and not developing their ground. Good luck to Marske Darlington Newmarket United 😉. PS is anyone going to thank me for hitting the nail on the head in regards to which step MDN Utd would be placed😎

Almost like people on here make it up as they go along🤨 I posted that they’d failed, I never said that they were after being demoted. A lot of clubs have failed up and down the country, good on them if they pull the rabbit out the hat. I feel a tinge of disappointment, when any Northeastern club hits the buffers for whatever reasons. I championed the restructure and automatic promotion way back when and want to see as many Northeastern clubs do well at step 4 & above

People get wind that a club may fail and they draw conclusions, Aycliffe were written off as North Shields as soon as there was any suggestion they may fail ground grading. Good luck to them.

Until lately they hadn’t done jack, so the assumptions were ‘here we go again another North Shields’. But the mood music was totally different coming out of the club. They responded straight away and stated that they were going to chuck everything at getting the ground sorted and hats off to them.

Lessons hopefully learned by that club and they can move on. NPL East seems reasonable for them long term

I have seen a few comments about the start date for the new season being 27th of July. Has that been confirmed? At the risk of false memory syndrome, I'm sure it was confirmed on the NL Twitter but nothing on the website as yet. Assuming this is the case, will they still be doing the Cleator Cup on the preceding weekend?

Assuming this is the case, will they still be doing the Cleator Cup on the preceding weekend? I hope the NL looks at how the NWCL sorted out finishing their season in plenty of time. Even though the NWCL has more clubs at step 5 and overall requires more match officials for their 3 divisions. The NWCL played midweek games from August to November and shoved the cup competitions to the end of the season.
