I’ve mentioned it elsewhere, Marske Utd are likely going to be placed in the NL. Also there’s 6 potential extra promotions for the losing step 6 playoff finalists on a ppg basis(this is to fill gaps created by teams folding or resigning higher up the pyramid). If Newcastle BS lose tonight, they may win one of these golden tickets. Tonight’s result may determine where Marske are placed. Because the FA have been told to stick to the min/max 18-22 clubs per division. So if Easington win and BS also goes up then Marske goes step 6 IMO. If BS wins then Marske goes step 5.

Are Brighouse also liable for relegation from NPL1E? "Step 4 and Step 5 2023/24 Season The Clubs finishing in the bottom two places in each of the eight divisions at Step 4 at the end of the Regular Season will be relegated and placed in a feeder pool and placed in the most geographically appropriate division at Step 5 for the following Playing Season."

Brighouse are liable to gain from a reprieve

There were 22 teams in Division 2 last season, if 3 go up and 1 is relegated that would leave 18 teams. 3 teams come up from the feeder leagues and RCA come down from Division 1 giving us 22 teams and if Marske Utd are shunted in also leaving the 2nd Division with 23 teams and a 44 game schedule.

Northern League is 23-24 had 20 Clubs. 2 promoted to Step 4 & 1 relegated to Step 6, with 2 promoted from Step 6 gives Division 1 19 Clubs. Putting Marske in Division 1 returns Division 1 to 20 Clubs.
Division 2 in 23-24 had 22 Clubs. 2 promoted to Division 1, 1 relegated to Step 7, with 3 promoted from Step 7 & 1 relegated from Division 1 leaves Division 2 at 23 Clubs. The FA Holy Grail is for all leagues to run at 20 Clubs, leaving Washington & West End at risk of relegation to Step 7, along with Brandon & Division 2 then running with 21 Clubs

23 teams in division 2 teams seems too many. I wonder if the league will relegate 3 teams from division 2 in future to get numbers down. May need to happen especially as every season someone seems to come up from feeder leagues unlike some parts of the country

May need to happen especially as every season someone seems to come up from feeder leagues unlike some parts of the country I very much doubt that there’s going to be any applicants from the Northern Alliance for the next couple of seasons. The North Riding League has at least one ambitious club, but there may be another couple going forward and one of those is a Reserve team and needs the first team to be promoted. The Wearside will probably always have a healthy amount of applicants.

Lowest of the low if Marske start again from Northern league Division 1. Absolutely stinking.
