Just in case anyone has missed it, the Hellenic League has lost 3 clubs. At step 5 Hereford Lads Club have resigned and were replaced by Hellenic Div1 losing playoff finalists Sporting Club Inkberrow. At step 6 Moreton Rangers and FC Bristol have both resigned. So the HL1 will now start with 19 clubs. In the United Counties League South(UCLS)Cogenhoe United have resigned and Newark Town UCL1 losing playoff finalists have been promoted to the UCLN. So the UCLS will start with 19 clubs, the UCLN will start with 20 clubs and the UCL1 will start with 19 clubs. The FA rules allows internal league promotions after the AGM’s, so that’s why they’ve been sanctioned.

It seems to me from where I'm standing the midlands in general are oversubscribed with clubs, many of which seemingly have no followings. It speaks volumes just how low some of the NPL Midlands attendances are in comparison to their West and East counterparts.

It seems to me from where I'm standing the midlands in general are oversubscribed with clubs, many of which seemingly have no followings. It speaks volumes just how low some of the NPL Midlands attendances are in comparison to their West and East counterparts. The majority of the population lives in the Northwest/Midlands/Southeast. Alongside this is the fact that there are a lot more clubs at every level in those towns and cities. So fans are spread over all these numerous clubs. That’s why at nonleague steps 1-6 the travelling is reduced across every level in those specific areas and not in the southwest/East Anglia & Lincolnshire/Yorkshire the Northeast and far Northwest. Where are the Burton Albions, Lincoln City’s, Mansfields, Chesterfields in the Northeast?

A football league level and even steps 1-4 the midlands tends to do better largely due to reduced travel but below step 4 not so much the case. Look at the chesterfield district, theres only 2 clubs in that area below step 4. Look at bolsover. No non league team there and its a decent sized town
