I see that the above has announced the end of its competition, another nail in the coffin of grass roots football
" Congratulations to Bedlington Social Club United FC on winning the play off game today against Grand Station Lounge Ashington FC, making them the league champions for 2023/24 season. Todays match was the final game of football to be played in the Blyth & Wansbeck Sunday Football League. The teams will confirm at a SGM on Monday 17th June, that the league will fold after 64 years of membership of the Northumberland FA. We would like to thank all of those who have participated in the league over the years for their contribution, whether it be a team player or official, league management member, referees and the many sponsors of the league and cup competitions, together with the various local clubs who have hosted our finals. We wish you all the very best for the future./ Date of next Meeting (AGM) Monday 17 June 19:00 Followed by the League Presentation Night at 20:00 at the Club"

A great shame. I played in the early 80s but injury / laziness / and alcohol put paid to my career.
There doesn't seem to be an alternative league locally for those few teams wanting to play on. ( Unless the Cramlington Sunday League could take them? )
It could mean the end of a few clubs / teams.
