I’ve been informed that they have failed the grading and from the information I’ve received they’ve basically done nothing. They may have been given dispensation until the end of May by the FA. If not, then welcome back to the NL.

If not, then welcome back to the NL. I was told that they had "begun all the preparations but had been stuffed by the wet weather in getting equipment on site as it has to cross the cricket pitches" As to how accurate this is, I've no idea or if the FA would take this into account

It’s a pity that they are yet another North Shields on social media and don’t say anything to their fans, players or sponsors

I imagine it would be a case of 'stuff the cricket pitch'. The cricket club might object to diggers and heavy machinery chewing up the pitch, but an ambulance they'll have to put up with.

If only they'd known earlier about the cricket pitches! Oh wait a minute - they did know.

Update from aycliffe:
Update on Ground Grading/Improvements The Club has a number of improvements to make to the ground if it is to continue at Step 4 next season. A great deal of that work, such as the pitch perimeter fence & dugouts were completed prior to the season starting. Other smaller items have been carried out since. However some work remains to be done: A new 50 seater stand Additional ladies toilet Second spectator entrance While funding & planning have been obtained the work has not yet been completed. This is due to the extraordinary weather conditions experienced in recent months. The ground is, of course, landlocked & vehicle access to deliver materials must come over grass. The wet weather has made this impossible & therefore we could not complete the ground work by the intended date of 31 March. As a result we applied to the FA for an extension to the deadline & they have now advised that we must complete the work by 31 May. We are confident that we can achieve this target assuming of course that at long last the ground dries out.

At least they’re engaging with their supporters etc and good luck to them, in regards to developing their ground in time. Does this affect their chances of playing in the playoffs? ie will they be told that they won’t be able to enter it if they make a playoff place. If they do enter the playoffs and somehow wins them, then they will have to do some major ground developments to achieve a C Grading by the 31st March 2025 and I’m sure they won’t want to gamble with the weather again

Any word on how Aycliffe are doing with their work? Only a couple of weeks left until the extended deadline. With the improvement in the weather over the past weeks I would think it would've been done but there's been nothing said?

I was down there recently and Woody and Alan Oliver were working their butts off…….they’ll be fine.
