They aren’t really drying out, they are just getting to a point where the standing water is gone. Water table still so high, so the slightest bit of rain puts it back to the starting point. Need at least a week (minimum), of dry weather but also for temperatures to increase. Forecast for the weekend is lovely. Dry, sunny and temperatures into the mid teens. The damage is done before the weekend. Its all well and good the weather being nice on Saturday but if its rained every day before then, pitches are still going to be waterlogged.

Correct Saturday and Sunday nice weather but rain from Monday to Friday next week 🤷🏻♂️ I’m pumping thousands of ltrs off our pitch about 3 days a week now but as soon as it’s cleared the rain puts us back to square one pissed of is an understatement. share.icloud.com/photos/0d9ntfCbJCbCb5kDydiKO6HWg

Wow, that's unbelievable. I remember Northallerton arriving for a fixture a few years ago and it being a bit like that after a massive downpour, and the game was postponed. Historically we have a pumping station for water and sewerage as our ground is lower than the sewer . Yorkshire Water will not touch it and its 100% our responsibility. Are Northumbrian Water taking responsibility for the flooding or is it the Clubs problem. I hope you get it sorted. Decent Club Birtley, doing things the right way.

That’s what the outcome could possibly be we would have to apply for funding for the pumping station . Problem we have is we are now having water running from top of Birtley to the bottom where we are. Never have our volunteers, some new some old be do deflated

Would it not be sensible to move your games to alternative venues.

You've actually said it goes back to the starting point which means it's been somewhere. Would somewhere be part of the drying out.

Northallerton v RCA Off tonight. Might have been a slim chance, but its poured down for the last two hours and is worse than at 8-30am this morning. Standing water all over. I cant remember the pitch being so wet in April...ever
