THIS IS SO SO TRUE .. all the squad have walked way no money being payed and every one is up for a transfer. But they are still going to Carlisle tonight for a road trip for free and early finished from work to not get a thing.

All of the problems have been known and widely discussed for more then a decade. Paying out a fortune on bar staff wages rather than relying on volunteers like most clubs do. Prioritising the clubhouse and its pool league via the paid groundsman/director who seemingly cares now able that them the football team. A complete inability to promote the team or acquire meaningful sponsorship (particularly during the Vase era which included refusing multiple offers from fans to go out and get sponsorship into the club). Rumours that new investment has been avoided as there's a reluctance to have genuine transparency re. Club finances. A board that absolutely so not ever want to get promoted or of the NL despite the occasional statement to the contrary when it's mathematically impossible. (See also a final game of the season in such a scenario where Whitley could theoretically have gone up if they'd won 13-0 that day. 4 or 5-0 up after half an hour or so and you could see the panic amongst the Scottish mafia) Countless examples of relying on the goodwill of fans then teasing them with contempt (there are people who've been waiting a decade to get the free pint they were promised for spending a weekend painting and repairing the ground) A complete failure to invest in infrastructure or improve the club when riding high and a wilful stagnation ever since which has lead us to the ludicrous position were in now.

I know it's in the contracts and it's a big draw to attracting players, but I think at this level it is properly irresponsible/stupid/careless to pay players weekly and not "per game". None of the teams in the league are immune to the weather and seasons like this highlight how many problems it generates! Would take some effort to pay them per game if they played Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday in the event of clearing a backlog of games, and those games were away fixtures. True...but surely it's the lesser of two evils?

The accusations at Bay have been going on for a decade now. Is there any actual evidence to support what's being said? All I can see is a club that's consistenly been at the top end of Division 1 despite not having a rich backer, and through some very tough times. Neil, make that 15-20 years! Always allegations that the money made pays for non-football related activities and wages.

Can anyone recall on the old forum when a whitley bay supporter posted a rant shortly after a game on a saturday teatime, clearly peed off with the team. Was hilarious, it mentioned scotch men and someone someone having a rooster in there pants, was either drunk or the swear filter had kicked on

Haven’t heard of him for years.

Arranged away travel for Whitley fans for years with no help or thanks from the club and would've done even more of the board hadn't been so obstructive. Another example of everything that's wrong with them.

Was all a bit cryptic but clearly someone who was upset. Only thing i have heard about the board myself is someone i worked with about ten year ago saying they were like mile ashley at newcastle

Fisheye now watches Newcastle home & away with his son Fishfinger who is a member of NUFC ground staff Another in along line of Bay supporters who tried to do things for the club & through frustration have moved on to other things Fisheye Travel still exists taking Bay fans away at cost price from their base at The Railway (Phoenix Tap) Now run by Top Bay Supporter & award winning programe joint editor Peter Fox For the record Fisheye has informed me he was not responsible for the 'Rooster' post it was someone else
