Seeing quite a few of the games are off for tonight. There was an awful lot of rain fell yesterday. the groundsmen must be having an absolute nightmare of a time recently.

More rain and strong winds for the region tomorrow too so I suspect there'll be more postponements.

A far closer game at Carlisle than I anticipated. City took a 2 goal lead thanks to 2 ill conceived rushes out of goal from the keeper but Law kept at it, pulled one back and came close to an equaliser. 3-1 at ht, then 4-1, 4-2 (I'm not sure it was a penalty) and finally 5-2.
Credit to the Law players, they never let their heads drop and always remained competitive. But their passing was often awry, they didn't play the easy options and lacked height in the centre of each area

Getting comical now the amount of fans called off. I mean it's been dry for the best part of 2 whole days. Either refs are calling them off way too easily or pitches are not fit for purpose.

Both sets of players and management wanted the game to go ahead tonight at North Shields,v Whickham, but the ref decided the pitch was unplayable 50 mins before kick off. Ridiculous !

In that case, the referee should be held accountable. Surely some kind of disclaimer can be signed between both teams which in a case like this overules the refs decision. Complete waste of time effort and resource of everyone. This kind of thing does no favours for anyone and will make people wonder why even bother.

Did they not get a local to check pitch this morning? If it wasn’t playable this morning then that would have been flagged up.

Made it in time for 7.30 at Ryton only for the kick off to be delayed by 30 minutes due to the late arrival of officials. Good game though and a 3-0 win for the home side. Crowd of 135

Getting comical now the amount of fans called off. I mean it's been dry for the best part of 2 whole days. Either refs are calling them off way too easily or pitches are not fit for purpose. I was talking to a referee a while ago about this and his answer as too why so many games get called off, more than previous times when pitches seem to everyone else, playable, was, the blame/claim culture, officials are terrified of a claim against them after a player down South sued a referee after and injury, won his case and got a fortune. So obviously there's an agenda but, calling a game off 50 minutes before a game unless there's been something torrential is shocking...
