Heaton Stan quietly creeping up the league. May be another Newton Aycliffe situation coming up . Always fancied them to be right up there once they catch up on the games .

I’m a strong believer in well supported clubs that are well run, could sustain promotion to step 4. The top 4 aggregate support for clubs in NL1 are as follows: 1) Heaton Stannington Average gate 425 2) Shildon Average Gate 351 3) Whitley Bay Average Gate 335 4) Bishop Auckland Average Gate 334 I believe that by May 2025 all 4 of these clubs will either be members of the NPL or have just gained promotion

That's up against some pretty stiff competition mind RC ! Can you remember the "year out of date" chocolate bars and cans at a certain club that is no longer with us? Or the "gloveless" handling of all sorts before serving up grub at a club that is? The northern league is no place for the faint hearted Oh aye which clubs that? I tend not to bother with food at grounds now at any level. Will get something in nearby pub/restraunt or takeaway before or after game It would be really unfair to say - given the marked improvement on the latter, and the otherwise excellent experience at the former I'm sure Mr Catcher will remember our mutual friends outrage on both occasions (and in hindsight maybe a DM would have been better!). In all honesty, if I've had a drink I would eat a scabby horse and cuisine a' la Northern league sorts me out
