Pretty awful pitch up there the two times I've visited. Your on about the old roofing pitch next door yeah. Never been an awful pitch always been decent just drainage problems this season has seen games called off like many other clubs. There pitches must be pretty awful aswell. When i went there V Willington in early 2022 it was very bobble filled. I take back what I said about it been awful, but it wasn't great. When I went in September 2022 against Washington it was much better, but still very patchy. I've seen worse, but what I'm saying is it certainly looked like a pitch primed for waterlogging.

In all honesty poolie it's only this season we've had this big a problem with it. It's always been a decent drying pitch but like I say this season it just won't go anywhere.

Whickham 1-3 Bishop Auckland (Giles, Johnson, Henderson) V.good performance from Bishops tonight, started the game very sharp and Giles opened the scoring with an excellent shot after a trademark cut inside. Whickham came into it a bit more as half progressed, but Louis Johnson smashed in the second right on half time. Bishops managed the second half brilliantly, squeezing the game really well and Henderson wrapped it up late on with a deflected header before a condition goal right at the end. Only negative was a rather unusually low away following tonight but hey ho guess with it being a re-arranged fixture, cold night and right after Xmas was a combination of factors. On we march.... Pointless going when you know your going to win and secondly terrible for parking and getting a parking ticket!

Managed to park just down the road. On a side note by far the worst food I have had at a football ground!!

Can you remember the "year out of date" chocolate bars and cans at a certain club that is no longer with us? Or the "gloveless" handling of all sorts before serving up grub at a club that is? The northern league is no place for the faint hearted

Cafe is rough as is the food, the toilets are awful and the seats in the stand are antiquated.

At least they’ve never asked for a month off during the hardest part of the season, and fulfill their fixtures. There’s bigger problems in the ENL than antiquated stands and curled up sarnies.

Thats true and im sure they had issues a few year back and dont recall them taking time out during a season. Did anyone until durham city did when they were in the league?

I tend not to bother with food at grounds now at any level. Will get something in nearby pub/restraunt or takeaway before or after game
