Nothing short of brutal what happened to Consett and Belper today. Sadly from what I've heard the NPL have a very asinine rule that fixtures cannot be postponed on the Friday before.

Nothing short of brutal what happened to Consett and Belper today. Sadly from what I've heard the NPL have a very asinine rule that fixtures cannot be postponed on the Friday before. Eh what happened? Both Sheffield v Consett and Dunston V Belper passed morning pitch inspections respectively, only for a referee to arrive past 1:30 at both games and call them off. I just feel that if you need a pitch inspection in the first place that early it's probably best just to call it off there and then. Its winter, it's not like a scorching blast will dry up the pitch within three hours. Ashington did that with Belper Town themselves. Calling the game off before Belper traveled, good call.
