As the above title suggests, Bishops' host second Division Horden CW this evening at the Vest Construction Stadium, Heritage Park, 7.45pm kick off in the League Cup.
Would imagine Bishops' will, if possible, draft in several 'reserves' but should still be a strong enough team to make a good fist of advancing in another cup competition.
Horden seem to be doing ok in the league to date...

Echo them thoughts .Bishop second string on show tonight with a mix of the first team stars on the field just to attract the supporters from teams that don't have a game tonight due too waterlogged rice paddy's!

Did we really not want to win this game !!!! 7 changes from Saturdays team. Our No1 keeper in the crowd, not even on the bench (in fact no keeper on the bench) We had our No1 penalty taker (Gott) on the bench along with our top scorers Johnson and Henderson. They didn't even come on to take penalties, not even a single substitution was made during the game. I realise that this competition is of low importance compared to the league and the FA Vase but we fans have paid good money and expect the team to try their best whatever the competition. I'm not taking anything away from Horden who battled and battled throughout and deserved the win, best of luck for the rest of the season.

To be honest I'd rather not play the league Cup and dcc it's a opportunity to get playing time into lad not first choice .if they win the game fair enough. But I'm happy to be out . My opinion !!!

Congratulations Horden who deserved to progress after a solid display, particularly in the second half. Highlights for me were the excellent free kick from Bishops and the enjoyment on the face of our keeper when he saved the penalty to bring it level. Clearly of low priority given the changes and the fact that the expected spot kickers remained on the bench. Yes it's a lot lower down the pecking order in terms of competitions but I'm a believer in just winning every game - winning brings about winning. It wasn't to be so well done Horden.

It felt a low key match and it was a low key performance, but no lack of 'trying' on anyones behalf.
Horden CW better than a number of First Division sides we have strolled past so full credit goes to them. They played some nice quick stuff to feet and had a tenacity about them which if they keep it up will surely give them Aa good chance of promotion from their division.
Not a bad crowd of 210 for a midweek early League Cup round.

I had a look up to Bishops with a friend of mine last night.
I though Bishops started well and looked the better team without really creating too many chances. Horden were better in the second half and the game could of been won at either end in the last couple of minutes.
Good night of football and its always nice to see the underdog win now and again. As has been mentioned though i dont think this would of been too high on the list of priorities for Bishops so they might not be too upset.
