Jason Newall. Former Richmond gaffer. Very unexpected appointment at a club that should have been performing better over recent years. Their better players have been announced elsewhere so looks like a big rebuild. Although it does amuse me that clubs are announcing signed players before the forms are available and they won’t be available until after the AGM. Thats a real strange one he didnt do a great deal at Richmond, anyone know his history managing?

Jason is good at motivating players and team tactics. Whilst he only managed Richmond for 2 seasons, they did win the North Riding County Cup and finished top 6 on both occasions. The Club is a bit behind the curve signing new players (not that they can sign anyway until Sunday) due to the timing of Jamie Tunstalls departure, but there will definitely be a competitive tea, come the start of the friendlies. Its a bit of a different direction than the usual Northern League Journeymen but I am confident it will work out.

He is 38. Played over 400 games in the Northern League, for Northallerton, Stokesley, Thornaby, Bishops and Shildon, as a centre back. Can still play but is unlikely to.

First signing an ex Richmond Town player,, Brought in 5/6 players from Richmond - could be a recipe for disaster with those players jumping up 2 Divisions, and only 2 of them have the ability for that level
