I honestly think this might be the worst season i can remember for games being called off.
Clubs are in for a long few months toward the back end of the season.

The mighty bishops will have played all their home games and probably loads of cancelled away games to play as we know it's the Wembley of the North!

Friendly result from earlier. Watched Boldon CA beat Sunderland RCA think it was 6-3. RCA 3-1 up then went out like a light.

And what are the reasons, Im sure we have had far worse autumns / winters. Pitches not up to scratch? Less leniency from a 'pitch playable' perspective?

I know on some occasions so far the league have given teams the ability to call games off without an official doing an inspection. Maybe teams are calling games off officials wouldn't for various reasons? I think there are some cases of pitches certainly not being up to standard and i do think this may be one of the wettest winters we have had, certainly in recent memory.

Horden v Aycliffe is on Wednesday (tonight). Has that been confirmed? I was looking for something on social media as i was probably going to go to this one but thinking its probably going to be off too. Nothing to say it's off. Both clubs posted about the fixture a few days ago. Thanks for the warning about it might been off though. I take it rain in the past few days might have waterlogged the pitch?

I live about 20 minutes from Horden and it’s been pretty consistent rain for a few days now. I think their game was off at the weekend due to a waterlogged pitch so I’d be surprised if it is on.

Twitter says Horden game is off tonight. I'd be looking at booking Ford Hub for cup games. Think West end are guaranteed a spot through the week. Just look at when there either away or not playing through the week and get what cup games or any games for that matter played. Not the best venue but it ticks the boxes. Might tick a few more if you can get some of these games on. I get it's pricey. Just take it out of the millions that filter down to grassroots level. Something has to give sooner rather than later

I am sure some on here will remember a winter quite a few years ago when some teams didn't play a single game for about 10 weeks due to snow and frozen pitches, now as a committee man at the time I can tell you that was chaos.

December 2010 - Feb 2011 that would be I imagine? About 8 weeks of sub zero temperatures and snow. Bishops' had just moved into Heritage Park and remember after the initial first couple of games there wasn't one for a couple of months before we played Shildon on an absolute mess of a surface. I was in India at the time and couldn't believe pictures of the pitch that were sent to me
