So Worthing are away to Alfreton in the 1st round of the FA Cup.
Good ground? Decent fans? Proper football or hoofball?
Any thoughts appreciated

The grounds pretty ramshackle to say the least, one of the stand is a load of wonky seats with a bit of tin sheeting over, was big plans to re-build ground but they came to nothing. Alfretons football aint pretty, billy heath was same when at halifax but they are a dependable side and the chairmans been there for years and keeps things steady. Decent clubhouse behind main stand and the fans are a friendly bunch and the pub near the ground the victoria is a down to earth boozer that welcomes away fans. As with alot of typical ex mining towns in that area you will find food and drink reasonable.

Only saw them once, V Farsley Celtic, hottest day of the year last year (August sometime I think).
Absolute hoofball, among the worst I have ever seen. But I suppose when you have a front two of Tom Denton and Matt Rhead, you may as well play like that. Highlight of the game was a Farsley sub trying to kick the water bottle over near the Alfreton bench and getting a "Congratulations, you play as a f****** sub for Farsley Celtic" from Alfreton's manager. Dire game, 0-0 and even a penalty couldn't go in!
That said North Street looks pretty good, I know for sure it has an incredible programme shop, a lot of seating as well. I'll probably visit it sometime.
Fans seemed a decent bunch when I spoke to a few at Farsley. Not like Chester or Banbury with daft kids thinking they're the next Green Street.

Forgot denton had re-joined them, seen him play a few times, he reminded me a bit of john outwhaite who played for a few northern league clubs, a proper old school footballer who whilst not flamboyant did the job.
