Why would anyone complain, its not like you're sharing the gate and doing the away team out of any money.
Regarding the league rules, many clubs have an annual "pay what you like" game and I'm not aware of any being penalised for this

Can you not do a freedom of information request to the league?

Absolutely pathetic - I thought the Northern League had finally shed it's 'tionfoil hat' reputation. I appreciate that is a complaint comes in, due process has to be followed, but a brilliant initiative like this should be applauded by all, not challenged.

If found out Town should name the club. That way fans can boycott away matches at whatever ground it's at. Fight fire with fire I say.

A few years back, during the pandemic, Shotton were playing home games and letting fans in, due to the easy misconception as it wasn't actually Shottons ground they could not stop spectators.
Shildon AFC reported it to the Wearside League and got them fined.
So yeah, so much for the friendly Northern League spirit.

I think it could be any club . In affect the cost for season tickets works out at £1 per game . What are they charging Non season ticket holders at the gate. It will be some sad away team if the entry fee is say £5 for them to get in. Whoever it is needs to get a life. Who knows what the deal is. Maybe the sponsor is paying the other £4-00 per season ticket. If that’s the case then fair play to them

These sort of initiatives should be applauded, Making football accessible to more people.
I cant understand why anyone would have a problem with it

You'd think that the League Management would fully get behind an initiative like this. They could have backed it and used it to shine a light on the league and nonleague in general. Yes no one else has an offer like this, but there's still some brilliantly priced season tickets at other Northern League clubs. And as we all know, even at full price, we all offer a bargain compared to leagues further up the pyramid and especially professional football. Open goal missed and own goal scored.

Hard to imagine that through some petty action, a marvellous move by club and sponsors should end up being the subject of a complaint. It absolutely baffles me why someone would take the step of making an issue of this when the truth is it should be held up as an excellent example of a club doing its best to stay in touch with fans. Especially at such hard hitting times. Absolutely correct with the idea of a boycott of an away trip to that club to hit them where it obviously means so much! I would hate to think it was my club that made a stink.

There's a couple of interesting points raised here. For a start is this a league rule or the FA, I know higher up the pyramid the rules are strict regards aways fans being charged more than home, so discounting season tickets massively undermines this. Im certain most Clubs didn't know this rule existed , I've never heard of it. That said there seems to be a drift in adding season tickets to attendances regardless if the person attends (attendances should be just that , people there). Ultimately at our level I don't see the need for a minimum price for season tickets, surely that's a commercial decision by the Club. As for a Club reporting Billingham Town, there was plenty of media hype for the power that be to see this promotion.

Most clubs in NL discount season tickets. Whoever has started this shite off could have opened a right can of worms. Having said that I reall don’t see how the League are getting pelters over this. They have to respond to complaints. No doubt the club involved will be outed at some stage then they can explain the reason for it. I’ve a feeling it will be some local club who may have lost some supporters .

The NL management committee have picked a strange battle to fight so it's no surprise they're getting stick.

I don’t know what they have done at the league to say they have picked a strange battle to fight. They have received a complaint from a member club. They have to respond to the complaint. It’s the person or club who have complained that have started this all off. Probably they are losing supporters to billingham because of the low price offered that’s why I think it may be a club local to billingham.
