Making a first trip to Kendal tomorrow, any advice from previous visitors re chippy options, parking etc? There are a few chippies in the town centre, Fish Express and Frydays are a couple that spring to mind.
You would need to be at the ground by around 6:30 to get into the club car park, otherwise the next road Archers Meadow (opposite the cricket pitch) is a residential road where you should find somewhere to park.
The food at the football ground is very good, they do locally made pies, sausage rolls, burgers etc, and also do chips among other things.
Hope you enjoy your visit as much as I enjoyed my trip to Tow Law last week for the FA Vase game.

Very good game at Kendal tonight where the home team came from 2 down to win 4-2. Despite the result this was the best I've seen Law play this season though the result was a fair one. Good size crowd at a quirky ground and friendly locals but the parking wasn't great and I bet local residents hate game nights
A big thank you to Minty for the Fish Express recommendation.
I try to be mindful of how difficult a job the officials have but the Ref tonight was awful. He appeared to not know the laws of the game e.g you can't take an offside kick ten yards inside the attackers half nor call a drop ball for a minor leg injury amongst other glaring errors.
£5 entry for 6 goals, a sin bin and 2 red cards, what's there not to like (apart from a return over Hartside Pass in thick fog) ?

Bedlington had a player sent off in the first minute Must've been a shocking tackle Wasn’t in the GK? Maybe a professional foul? Think they had another player sent off 20 mins later!

"you can't take an offside kick ten yards inside the attackers half"
Err yes you can, if the player comes from an offside position and touches the ball, the kick is taken from where he touches it.

I didn't know that in fairness but that wasn't the case last night. The ref just allowed it to be taken 15 yards away from where he touched it

Glad you enjoyed the game and the chippy Kentrebel.
By the way I would also describe Tow Law’s ground as being quirky (in a good way). Your boys played much better than 10 days earlier in the Vase. Kendal weren’t at their best last night but that was largely down to Tow Law’s efforts. We are still getting used to this league, I wouldn’t say it is better or worse than the North West Counties, just different. In my humble opinion NL teams tend to be fitter and better organised, whereas NWCL tends to allow a bit more time on the ball and arguably a little more flair.
We are certainly agreed on the ref, in fact both red carded players claim they were victims of mistaken identities! I also agree the game was well worth the money for entertainment.

First defeats of the season for Redcar and Boro, at the hands of the two [insert accusation here] clubs.
Marske look like they could challenge for promotion this season, will they then resign again in the summer?
Hopefully Shields result is just a fluke rather than a sign of things to come and they exit the league via the bottom rather than the top at some point in the future.

Insert any accusation you want as you're clearly keen to.
